Call for applications for the second edition of the Special Award 'I include gender in research'
Dear Academia,
The call for applications for the second edition of the Special Award 'I include gender in research' for the highest-rated master's and doctoral theses incorporating a gender perspective in the area of research is now open.
As part of the EU Horizon 2020 project Modifying Institutions by Developing Gender Equality Plans (MINDtheGEPs) implemented at the University of Gdansk, a number of activities are being undertaken to implement gender equality policies at our university, as set out in the Gender Equality Plan for the University of Gdansk. Equality meassures for the years 2022-2023.
One of the project's activities is the awarding of annual prizes for the highest-rated master thesis and doctoral dissertation integrating gender into scientific research. In 2023, the formula for the award has been extended - master's theses and doctoral dissertations can be submitted separately from two areas: the social sciences and humanities, and the sciences and natural sciences As a result, if the submitted works meet the contest criteria, the jury will be able to award two prizes for master's theses (one from each area) and two for doctoral theses (one from each area). In this year's edition of the contest, the Award may be applied for by those who were awarded either a master's degree or a doctoral degree at the University of Gdańsk in 2022 or 2023.
The prizes in 2023 will amount to PLN 2000 for master's theses and PLN 3000 for doctoral theses, respectively. Detailed rules of the competition are given in the Regulations of the "I include gender in research"
Applicants are invited to submit their master and doctoral theses by 20 October 2023.
